Our Next Heartland Fire “Safety & Career Expo” In El Cajon Is October 13, 2012!

Mark your calendars! Our next Safety & Career Expo is Saturday, October 13th, 2012 - from 10am to 2pm, at 100 E. Lexington Avenue in El Cajon!

Our annual event provides valuable safety, health and career information. There’s something for every member of the family!

Pick up materials from over 50 health organizations, such as; the Office of Emergency Services, American Red Cross and San Diego Gas & Electric! This is the perfect “free” family event! We welcome some 4 to 5 thousand vistors every year!

On March 11, 2008 City officials joined El Cajon Fire Chief Mike Scott for the ribon cutting ceremony of the new Fire Station 8 located at 1470 East Madison Avenue in El Cajon. El Cajon Firefighters moved into the new Fire Station 8 located at 1470 East Madison Avenue in March of 2008! As you can see the guys were pretty excited!

Public Information Officer Monica Zech is joined by Fire Chief Mike Scott on the left and El Cajon Police Chief Pat Sprecco at the Women In Leadership Award luncheon held on November 14, 2008 at the Doubletree Hotel in Mission Valley. Monica was given the award in the category of Art/Culture/Media by the East County Chamber of Commerce for her dedication to Safety in the community, through lectures and through safety messages delivered through TV, radio and print.

As part of the opening ceremonies for the dedication of the new El Cajon Fire Station 8, members of the Viejas Fire Department provided the El Cajon Fire Department with a check donation in the amount of $2,200 toward framing of photographs for the walls of the new fire station on Madison Avenue. Fire Safety Educator of the Year Award

On July 18, 2007 the San Diego County Fire Chief’s Association awarded El Cajon Fire’s Safety Educator Monica Zech the Fire & Life Safety Educator of the Year Award for 2007. This honor recognized Monica for her dedication to educating the public in injury prevention, not only in El Cajon, but throughout the County through lectures and through TV/radio/print media.
