(El Cajon, California) - On October 19th & 11th, 2005, the City of El Cajon allowed firefighters from the El Cajon Fire Department to do a burn training at the former El Cajon Speedway, the speedway had been a fixture in the city for over 50 years and closed earlier this year. The location is across from the Gillespie Field Airport. This training also gave valuable training to a trio going through our El Cajon Fire Academy. Their graduation ceremony was held Friday, October 14th at the El Cajon Heartland Training Facility at 1501 N. Marshall.
