El Cajon Firefighters quickly contain vegetation fire in vacant lot

Vegetation fire on Magnolia

On Tuesday, July 20th, at approximately 3:50 p.m., firefighters from the El Cajon Fire Department responded to a vegetation fire in a vacant lot located at 553 South Magnolia Avenue. It took two engine companies about five minutes to contain and extinguish the fire, which burned approximately 1/8th of an acre. No structures were damaged or threatened, and there were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Firefighters were able to quickly contain the blaze thanks to good vegetation management and proper clearance, along with timely 9-1-1 calls from bystanders.
